Privacy policy

The short version

We collect as little as possible. We don't sell your data. The only personal information we ask for is an email address, and only if you choose to subscribe.

What we collect

If you subscribe to the newsletter

We collect your email address and pass it to our email service provider so we can send you the newsletter. We use it for nothing else. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

When you click an outbound link

Links to retailers pass through a redirect on this site. When they do, we record which paddle and which retailer was clicked, so we can understand which content is useful. We do not attach that record to your identity.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which may include IP address, browser type and the page requested. These are used for security and reliability and are retained for a limited period by the host.

Cookies

This site stores one item in your browser's local storage: your light/dark theme preference. It never leaves your device and is not used for tracking. We do not currently set advertising or analytics cookies.

Third parties

When you follow a link to a retailer, you are subject to that company's privacy policy, not ours. Affiliate programs typically set a cookie on the retailer's own site so a purchase can be attributed to us. We have no access to your account, payment details or order contents — only, at most, an aggregate report that a sale occurred.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. Since the only such data we hold is a newsletter email address, these requests are usually simple. Email hello@dinkdex.com and we'll action it.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

If we change how we handle data — for example by adding analytics — we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
